Fitz Fitzgerald is a psychologist working with the Los Angeles police. He's a heavy drinker and a gambler and he has uncanny success interrogating criminals as he understands their vices, weaknesses and perversities.

Based on the novels by Val McDermid, this is the story of a clinical psychologist, Dr Tony Hill, who is called upon by the police to investigate mysterious killings across the north of England that are too baffling for most detectives.
